My name is Kenyanti Brooks and I currently teach at Ridge Road Middle School as a 6-8th grade Extensions (formerly SAC) Classroom. I am entering my 2nd year here at Ridge and I am looking forward to a fun and exciting 2018-2019 school year. I am originally from Alexandria, VA but moved down to Charlotte in 2007 while attending Johnson C. Smith University. While at JCSU I earned my undergraduate degree in History with a concentration in Colonial American History. It was not until I graduated and worked with a teenager with Autism while employed at Charlotte Mecklenburg Library that I discovered my passion and love for working with individuals with disabilities. In the Spring of 2016 I started working on my Masters of Arts in Teaching for Adapted Curriculum and left my job at the library to became a teacher assistant at Beverly Woods Elementary in a kindergarten self-contained classroom. I have enjoyed the past three years making a difference in my students and their families lives. I am one of my students biggest cheerleaders because I believe that they can achieve any goal they set their mind too. I give 110% everyday and I am committed to promoting inclusion throughout the school and the surrounding community for my students.
